A gorgeous Malbec, especially for this price! Full-bodied and smooth with layers of fleshy ripe black plums and dark berries with some smoke. Pair with roast beef.

Malbec food pairings: roast beef, meat-lover's pizza, lamb cutlets, rich lentil stew.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Great value for sure! Aromas of deep blueberry, plum, smoke and cedar. Full bodied with firm tannins, and some rich berry and plum flavours on the palate. Enjoy with grilled meat or a rich lentil stew.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

From Piattelli Vineyards - Reserve Malbec from the Salta region of Argentina. Showing long legs, with bright dark plum, cherry stems, leather and a hint of smoke. Flavours show ripe raspberries and a variety of earthy red fruit. Bright, well balanced acidity and silky clean tannins. Awesome with burgers and grilled portobellos.
Piatelli 2016 Malbec is a medium-plus-bodied, rich with dark plum, blueberry, mulberry, spicy and smoky flavours on the palate. Excellent balance and finesse. Tannins are firm and the wine finishes with enough heft and bright acidity for a juicy grilled steak. The wine matured in American oak for nine months. So good now. Minnesota restaurateur Jon Malinski and his family run this winery. - Community Wine Reviews
