Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Lots of pepper and plum skin with stewed mulberries, iron, baking spice, meat blood and decayed forest floor and crushed rocks. 92 points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Gwen Barton rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Rich and well-structured, this med-full bodied Malbec out of the Mendoza region is a fragrant beauty with blueberry, cranberry and hints of tea and smoke on the nose. Nice flavours of dark fruit, with pepper and chocolate very noticeable in on the finish. Moderate tannins make this a wonderful wine for pairing. Try it with steak fajitas and guacamole. Tasted Aug 2017.
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A truly great value Malbec bursting with flavor and surprisingly smooth. Inky in color, there is a rich nose of dark fruit with a hint of vanilla and added stewed currants and dark chocolate on the palate. There is a lovely acidity present with a smoky ground pepper finish. Perfect pairing to grilled steak.
In the 1940s, the Piattelli family immigrated to Argentina brining their winemaking legacy from their native Tuscany, according to the information on this wine's back label. Mendoza's Lujan de Cuyo region is at an altitude of 3,152 feet above sea level so the vines benefit from slow ripening in cooler temperatures. The soils are rocky and have a thermal amplitude. - Community Wine Reviews
