Stewed strawberry is prominent yet the wine is pleasant and picks up pleasantly on the palate with spicy peppered black raspberry. Medium-bodied and smooth and mouth-watering.

Pinot Noir food pairings: chicken thighs in a garlic-sage rub, autumn stews with sausage.

Erzeugerabfüllung (say that three times fast) means the wine is estate bottled. This plucky Pinot comes from Germany's southerly Baden region, which shows in the fullness of the fruit. Lovely aromas of stewed strawberry, dark cherry, beetroot, spice and vanilla echo with clarity on the palate, and there's an attractive smoky flourish to the finish. Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
