Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The first nose has ripe blueberry, blackcurrant jelly, milk chocolate, and sweet tobacco notes. Give it a swirl and red berries come to the surface along with leather, floral notes, and a touch of beet. Full bodied on the palate with notes of dark plum, cassis, and juicy raspberry, along with coffee notes and a chocolate after taste.

Pair with grilled red meat or a coffee rubbed roast.

Excellent everyday wine from Peller Estate located in the lovely wine region of Niagara, the Merlot 2018 offers aromas of red currant, red plum, bay leaf, clay pot, baking spices and cedar. The wine shows a medium body, pleasing tannins and acidity, and a warm finish that is perfect for sipping. Palate: Tart plum, red currant, bay leaf, new leather, incense and coffee. Enjoy.
David Skinner rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby. Straight forward nose with plenty of cherry and some spices. Medium tannins and balanced. Full bodied and flavours of bright red cherries and raspberries. A medium finish

Great accompaniment for burgers and stews.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A fruit-forward, garnet red Merlot. Shows lots of cassis, baking spice and toast on the nose. The palate gives bright fruity cassis and spice and slight oak. An easy-drinking Merlot to accompany pork chops or spicy pasta.

Smooth and easy drinking Merlot. Lots of dark berry Aromas with hints of smoke and a touch of vanilla. Enjoy with any meat or mushroom dishes.
Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

This merlot is for folks who like them oaked. A bouquet of jammy raspberry, blackberry, sun dried spices and oak ushered in red fruit and woodsy flavours, light structure and silky tannins. Dry and medium bodied, this creation hails from Ontario’s Niagara Peninsula appellation. Pair with sausage jambalaya and grilled meat dishes. Enjoy.

Cherry, currant, milk chocolate, blueberry, and woodsy pinecone note. Bright and cheery and and price that you can stock up on, this is a totally great wine for the price and feel free to serve it at your next big party... when we are doing that again!

Good with pizza and cheesy little appetizers
