Reviews and Ratings

L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Lusciously sweet ice wine, aromas of caramelized pineapple, dried apricot, peach and mango with a floral note. It tastes like heaven in the glass, luscious sweetness balanced by tangy acidity with flavours of honeyed apricot, ripe peach, caramelized pineapple and candied lemon. Good with blue cheese!
Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Deep golden in colour with aromas of golden apple, pineapple, peach, lemon and honey. It is full bodied with biting acidity that balances well with the sweetness. On the palate you get flavours of honey, apple, peach, pineapple and candied lemon. This will pair well it a fruit tart, crème brule or enjoy it on its own as an after dinner treat. Tasted on May 28, 2022.
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Heaven in a bottle and near imposible to share, the Peller Estate Riesling Ice Wine 2019 delivers aromas of cooked apricot, juicy peach, marmelade, honeysuckle, ginger and brioche. This sweet nectar offers a light body, a zest of acidity and a heavenly coating finish. Palate: pineapple, ripe peach, orange zest, honey, saline and graham cracker. Enjoy!
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Aromas of pear, lemon and pineapple, and hints of carmelized sugar. Full bodied and luscious on the palate with rich fruit and warm sugar and honey, along with balancing, bright acidity. Enjoy with fruit tarts or creme brule.
Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The Peller Estates 2019 Riesling Ice Wine is a versatile creation. Harvested at minus 10 degrees Celsius in Ontario’s Niagara Peninsula appellation, this ice wine’s signature is tangerine, green pear and honey notes from its aromas to its lingering finish. This wine feels lovely - lush, full bodied, sweet with a big dose of right touch acidity. For me, this creation is versatile because I’d serve it as an aperitif, along side dessert and in cocktails as a substitute for vermouth. Enjoy.

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A rich golden coloured icewine that is fragrant on the nose with delicious notes of apricot, honey, bruised apple, candied pineapple, fruitcake, lemon, orange marmalade, and almond.

The palate follows the nose in the form of a tangy and sweet, luxurious nectar. Concentrated notes of apricot, tart lemon, orange marmalade, honey, and hazelnut. The flavours linger.

Food pairing: fruit custard pie, or try with a cheese platter that includes Roquefort or Stilton, hazelnut and dried fruit.
