Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Pearl Morissette's 2014 Chardonnay comes from a cool year and they have done a lot to this wine to emphasize the "coolness" of it.
The colour is light. Lemon-yellow, with a watery rim.
Heady aromas of madeleine cake, white asparagus, almond, baking apple.
On the palate, there is a lot of peach-pit, apple, pastry, and a touch of baking spice.
This wine saw 10% new oak and the rest in used large format oak fermenters. They avoided battonage (stirring yeast to encourage roundness in mouthfeel) to keep it crisp and understated. That is definitely why this one tastes so crisp. Very different.
Pair this with a shrimp salad with lemon basil.
From the Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Escarpment wine region in Ontario, Pearl Morissette Cuvée Dix-Neuvième (2014) Chardonnay is showing some volatile acidity. Apple, citrus notes with a bready nose on this one. - Community Wine Reviews
