Reviews and Ratings

Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Aromas of blueberry and some floral notes, the palate offers flavors of blueberry, cherry, baking spice, cola and subtle earth notes. Finishes with soft tannins. Pair with duck pancakes. Tasted April 2019 at the California Wine Fair Ottawa tasting.
Simon Chen rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

California wine fair @ Ottawa - tasted side by side with their 2016 crossbarn pinot and both wines have a very similar style. This pinot is more rich on the fruits, which loses the elegance that I like in a pinot.
Brent Gushowaty rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The colour here is a medium- with a mauve rim. On the nose there are shy berry notes along with richer red fruits. There is a medium minus intensity and some good complexity. The flavours here medium red berry, loganberry, some smoke and a touch of tar. The intensity here is medium but a good underlying acidity keeps everything in balance including the modulated tannins.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
