Hickory smoke and savoury black fruit on the nose and palate of this delightfully delicious Californian red wine. Great value for this price. Pair with barbecued meats.

Zinfandel food pairings: spaghetti Bolognaise, aged cheddar, grilled duck breast, cheese pizza.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Good value for this small lot Zinfindel at $20. Deep ruby/garnet colour with aromas of red berries and blueberry, black pepper, sweet spices and bakers chocolate. This Zinf is light in style and a little thinner on the palate. Finish is lingering and smooth. Try pairing this wine with your favourite pizza, saucy BBQ meats.
Tasted:January 2016
The Californian region is situated between Santa Barbera and San Francisco and has the widest temperature swings of any grape growing region i the state. This causes the vines to create small clusters of grapes that are deep concentrated in flavour and richly flavoured wines. Small lot winemaking and barrel aging allows the bold character of the wine to emerge. OTHER: Here's a fruit-forward Zin showing juicy red cherry, plum, cocoa and smoke. The finish is supported by ripe, fleshy tannins. A great choice for big-flavoured foods - think steak fajitas, pizza or burgers. (VINTAGES panel, May 2015) - Community Wine Reviews
