The 2012 vintage of the Italian red wine Barolo Riva del Bric underwent a short maceration period of 15 days during which the grapes soaked on their skins for colour and flavour. The Barolo Riva del Bric offers a great way to get familiar with this style of robust Italian red wine as it's very well-made. Dark fruit, violets, truffles and smoke. Decant 2 hours.

Barolo food pairings: roast veal, lamb, hamburgers, aged meats and cheeses, herbed roast beef.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A beautiful expression of Barolo, featuring cherry, dried raspberry, red plum skin, dried herbs, porcini mushroom, and dried violet on the finish. 92 Points.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A big, bold and tight Barolo with alluring fig, plum and tarry aromas. The palate showcases some powerful chewy face pulling tannins with a long chocolate finish. There are still years of development ahead. If enjoying now, aerate for a minimun two hours prior to serving. This wine can easily cellar for another 10+ years. Produced by ViƱa Marty, the 2012 vintage has a firm grip on the palate and is concentrated in flavour. Made from the northern Italian grape Nebbiolo famous for its firm tannins. Very juicy with mouth-watering acidity. Unfiltered. Pair with truffled risotto. - Community Wine Reviews
