Old World styling with New World power. Fleshy blackberries and a wisp of mint on the nose, followed by 12 layers of silk on the palate. This wine was aged for 18 months in 70% new French oak and 30% new American oak. Superb dinner party wine.

Syrah food pairings: leg of lamb, brisket.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Painted Rock's 2012 vintage Syrah is one of the finest Syrah's to come out of the Okanagan Valley. Deep ruby red in colour, is loaded with rich dark berries, roasted beets, sweet spice, and savoury smoked meat notes. The palate is round and silky smooth, packed full with ripe berries, and velvety smooth tannins. An incredible wine to enjoy now or cellar and enjoy until 2022. Tasted September 2015. 93 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
The nose is floral, tulips, violets, etc. with a hint of good prosciutto. It has afloral, nice mouth feel, blackberries, pepper and proscuitto, nice tanic backbone. This wine will age beautifully.
