Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A generous cool climate wine, with currants, cherries, linzer torte, and a tight, mineral-tinged core. Could easily age a few years. Decant 30 min-1 hour before serving. 89 Points. (ottawawinejournal.com)
The Hawkes Bay region on New Zealand’s North Island is best known for producing red wines, particularly with classic Bordeaux varieties. The moderate maritime climate, sunny skies and gravelly soils are perfect for growing deeply delicious Merlot like this one. This well-structured wine offers rich fruit flavours with hints of spice.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
