Reviews and Ratings

Julia Kelada rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

If I were to taste this wine at a blind tasting and then be asked to give it a price point, I would have to give it a $24.00 ball park figure.... so, go knock my socks off when I discover that it is a whopping $16.95..... woohoo, the gem we have all been looking for! Hunt no further, run to the stores and stock up!
Now this is a full bodied , dry wine that is full on personality but not to the point that your palate needs a 911 resuscitation! This wine still showcases charisma, and entices you to pair it with any number of strong meats. Bison, Deer, Foul. Even with Lamb in a rich red loganberry sauce it would pair well, or pork in a blue cheese sauce.
On the nose this wine shows juniper berries, black cherries and plums. Notes of rosemary and terracotta with strong earthy mineral tones.
On the palate there are the fruits of black cherries, cooked plums, dried figs and dates. Herbal notes of rosemary and damp cigar leaves step forward. Weathered leather steps aside to present notes of bitter dark chocolate and espresso beans. The tannins are amazingly smooth and release notes of nutmeg and cloves. The finish to this wine is long and velvety. Yum! I give this a 94

Bottoms up!

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
