Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This Chardonnay, from Westbury Wine's Nagging Doubt Winery, is delicate and achieves balance. The elevage here is very new world. It was mostly aged in stainless steel (80 percent) and the rest given a slap of new French oak. Fermentation was wild and inoculated.
Lemon yellow colour, it is much deeper at the core. Quite light at the rim.
Aromatics are subtle, so do not overchill this one. Baking dough, lemon zest, yellow apple, almond, and a touch of smoke to it.
The oak is not in your face, but very present on the midpalate. Fresh fruit and then the smoke and autolytic character. Lots more citrus too. Yum.
Lobster rolls, smoked, salmon, or other wonderful B.C. seafood would be an absolute pleasure with this.
Don't keep it too long. Maybe 2-3 years.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
