A beautifully-balanced Spanish red wine made from 100% Tempranillo. Spicy on the nose with bright cherry, red berry and smoky aromas. Smooth cherry, raspberry, mocha and spice flavours on the palate. Tannins are structured but manageable. Pair with roast pork.

Food pairings: leg of lamb, filet mignon, pork tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A perfect wine for any amateur of Spanish wine. Vina Muriel Gran Reserva 2006, mainly made from Tempranillo, delivers aromas of fig, dried blueberry, dried rose, pastrami, parmesan cheese, tobacco and oak. Medium body with lovely structure, the wine provides silky tannins and delicious dried fruit flavors. Palate: dried blackberry, fig, mustard seed, pastrami, parmesan, cigar box and oak. Enjoy!
Muriel Gran Reserva 2006 is an elegant and mature Spanish red wine made from the country's classic Tempranillo grape. Spicy with dried cherry and leather aromas on the nose, silky on the palate with dried red berry, cherry fruit, raspberry with a vibrant, smoky, spicy finish. Tannins are fine and pleasantly chewy. - Community Wine Reviews
