Love this Alvarinho and Trajadura white wine blend from the Vinho Verde region of northern Portugal. Refreshing white wine with distinctive white grapefruit and white pepper notes with laser acidity. Pair with grilled calamari or scampi in garlic butter.

Vinho Verde food pairings: grilled calamari, steamed mussels, stuffed squid.

Reviews and Ratings

Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Incredible value and a great glass of wine. Peaches and apricots and a bowl of fresh tropical fruit salad, with a steely clean palate that has a delicate florality. Enough weight on the palate to ensure this is not just a quaffing wine but a delicious wine to pair with food too. Serve with Thai chicken salad. @wrightwineblog
Muralhas de Moncao is a great-value Vinho Verde under $16 produced from Alvarinho and Trajadura wine grapes from that wine region. Look for intense zesty citrus and white pepper flavours on the palate matched with vibrant acidity. Great aperitif, but better with food. Pair with anything from grilled sardines and butter scampi to salads, herbed breads and quiche. - Community Wine Reviews
