A stunningly great BC red wine blend that is the flagship wine for Mt Boucherie winery. Aromas of cassis, black plum, smoke, graphite and anise. Pair with a rare steak and decant 1-2 hours.

Cabernet / Merlot food pairings: Beef Stroganoff with Cremini & Porcini Mushrooms to be the perfect pairing. The wine's Tannin's is slightly mellowed by the meat that simply melts in your mouth, along with complementing flavors of mushrooms in a rich sauce.

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Gorgeous Okanagan blend. Loved the aromatics of complex red berry, blackberry, fragrant violet floral petals, densely concentrated plums, anise and black sage. Integrating well. Balanced and has potential to age well. Pairs well with bbq filet mignon. Tasted 2014 vintage of the Summit winemakers reserve in Aug 2018. Decanted 2h. 93 points.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This beautiful winemakers blend consists of 43% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec and 3% Syrah. Aromas of currant, mint, leather, graphite, and smoke. Full bodied, bright acidity, with firm tannins. Nice balance of dark fruit, leather and spice on the palate. Lovely wine! Enjoy with a nice steak.
Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Opened this 2014 in February 2021 to impressive results. Pretty garnet hues. Stunning scents reminiscent of strawberry jelly, sandalwood, cigarbox, tomato leaf, vintage leather, molasses and nutmeg. At over six years old, this red’s flavour profile offered less to enjoy than the outstanding bouquet so open the 2014 Summit for its aromatic beauty.

The Summit was crafted in British Columbia from mostly merlot with cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, malbec and syrah in support roles. All matured for 22 months in 100% French oak barrels. Enjoy.
