Flavours of blackberry, cherry and cedar. Medium finish of cedar and dark fruit. Wine is well rounded and a pleasure to drink. #moutoncadet Winemaker Lunch

Loaded with red and dark fruits, spice, cedar, underbrush, and subtle graphite, making it a very complex wine that pairs beautifully with rack of lamb, rib steak, and strong aged cheese. Tasted June 2019. 90 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca

Crafted from 81% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Cabernet Franc, the wine delivers flavors of dark skin plum, fig, bay leaf, new leather, vanilla and oak. Great wine. Enjoy! Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: Mouton Cadet Heritage Vintage La Bergerie 2016 is a clean, lively Bordeaux blend. Merlot is featured with aromas of blackcurrants, cassis, green leaves and soft smoke. Palate is tight and young, with bing cherries, red plums, tomato skins, cedar and lingering graphite minerals. Nicely balanced with a firm backbone of acidity, medium body and sturdy tannins. A fine pairing with charcuterie and herb roasted lamb chops. - tasted January 2020
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: Lovely, full-bodied and quite flavourful. This blend is Merlot dominated (81%), with 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 7% Cabernet Franc. Aromas of ripe currant and blackberry, as well as warm cinnamon, black pepper, leather and earthy hints. Full bodied, with smooth tannins, some medium+ acidity, and a lengthy finish. Enjoy with a grilled steak.
Somm4All WSET 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: Balance is a key structural element in defining a “good” wine and applies not only to the winemaking decisions/techniques implemented, but also to the geography of where grapes are gown. Striving to bring consumers quality wine at everyday affordability, Mouton Cadet’s use of 2 distinct appellations for their 2016 vintage helps drive this aspect home. With 81% Merlot this is a fruit forward red that remains even keeled thanks to some power from 12% Cabernet Sauvignon and refinement from 7% Cabernet Franc. 18 months ageing helps bring forth aromas of baking spice, black raspberry, blackberry and a whiff of vanilla. On the palate we taste that same dark fruit however cassis shines as well, followed by some cedar, mocha/espresso, and a stronger vanilla note. Smooth tannins make this an ideal pairing for roasted lamb shanks.
Cherie Cole rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: Full-bodied and nicely structured. Flavours of black plum, dates, vanilla, leather and a hint of oak present a well-balanced wine. Long, dark fruit finish with medium tannins, just enough to cut into a rare steak. Tasted June 2019.
Cora Beaulieu rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review: You can serve this one slightly chilled; I think it will bring out the lively berry notes. The nose is restrained with hints of cherry, plum and fresh blackberry fruit. The wine has the right mix of red and dark fruit concentration, rounded out with leather, earthy, toasty oak, mocha, pepper and dried herbs notes. More mild in fruits than strong in tannins. The palate is nicely developed, but a little spicy, with a cheerful blackberry and black currant, finish. Well balanced. After taste could linger longer. Decent yet accessible Bordeaux.
