Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This is a delightful Pinot Noir from South Australia at a great price. On the nose, it is very earthy with vegetative and animal qualities, as well as subtle mineral notes. Fruit wise, there are mostly aromas of dark berry and plum.

Flavours wise, there are tart plums and cherries, with a touch of pepper and cocoa at the finale.

This is a medium bodied wine with tannins that are velvety and a pleasant level of acidity.

Pair with roasted duck with a berry reduction, pork in a mushroom sauce, or with quail or lamb.

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Pale ruby colour. Incredibly vibrant.
On the nose red cherry, raspberry, menthol, and a hint of dried herbs and earth. Flavours are firm, they consist of cherry, cinnamon, peppery salami, shiny leather and pencil shavings. Chewy, grippy and spicy. Medium plus acidity and finish. Medium minus body with some cinnamon raspberry mint notes persisting into the long finish.

Fruity and flavourful. Pair with charcuterie, smoked cured meats and medium cheeses.

Monterra (2015) is a cool-climate Pinot Noir from South Australia's Adelaide Hills, and one of Australia's best regions for growing Pinot Noir. Pair with mushroom risotto. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
