Natalie's Score: 91/100 An august, complex BC Cabernet with a seductive nose of fleshy blackberry and cassis. This red wine draws you in head first to the glass, and all your senses quickly follow. Love the layering and complexity on the mid-palate followed by a long finish. Decant 1 hour and enjoy with a pepper steak.

Reviews and Ratings
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review: Mission Hill are top of the list for acreage owned in Canada. They own so much that it represents a significant portion of B.C.'s viticultural territory. Estimated at 900ish acres, they are slightly ahead of Pelee Island - a winemaking giant from Ontario. This Cab represents good value for a full bodied, but not overdone red. 2013-2015 seem to be particularly positive and tasty vintages. This 2014 was tasted in late 2016 and is already grooving into being ready. It could age 3-7, but is great now with an aggressive decant. The colour is a deep garnet, with purple hues. The aromas have a lot going on - it's very pleasant. Cigar smoke galore! A touch woodsy, but not overoaked. Currant, blackberry leaf, black cherry, cranberry, chocolate, and forest floor. The palate plumps up woth a decant. Before decanting, freshly opemed, it was pretty spicey. The fruit emerge with plum and cherry in the foreground. Coffee, tobacco, currant, damson, and olive. The red and black fruit pick up steam and there's a black forest cake quality that emerges. Pretty complex. Mission Hill also recently built a new visitors' centre, which is gorgeous. One does not simply explore B.C. wine without encountering these folks. This wine would be an excellent partner for beef welly, or pepper steak with mushrooms.
Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: A real treat for Cabernet Sauvignon lovers. Aromas of mint, chocolate and black cherries, carry through to a luscious mouthfeel, and a lingering spicy finish. Balanced tannins and acidity, and a persistent spiciness make this Cab wonderful with a variety of bold flavoured dishes like peppered steak, sharp cheeses, or hot Italian sausage. Enjoy now, or cellar for up to 7 years. Tasted March 2017.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: Opaque deep ruby colour with pronounced aromas of earthy fruit and nice long tears. Black cherry, plum, prune, dark chocolate, some earthy forest and compost here too. Suede, black pepper, tobacco, a violet floral note and a touch of green pepper. Most all of this is reflected and echoed equally on the palate - with the additions of nutmeg, tart cherries and smoke. M+ body, acidity and finish. Very dry (2g/L) loads of tannin too (M+ ) truly well integrated. Great Cab! Pair with herbed flank steak of beef ribs. - tasted March 2017
