The Cariñena, Grenache and Syrah wine grapes for this full-bodied red from Costers del Segre were sourced from high-altitude vineyards. Look for fresh ripe red cherry, red and dark berry flavours, spicy and smoky on the palate. Elegant and nicely done. Enjoy now and for the next four years.

Food pairings: duck confit over small roasted potatoes and green onion, duck fricassee on egg noodles, grilled goose breast with cherry coulis.

Reviews and Ratings

Miguel Torres Purgatori 2014 is produced from grapes grown in a vineyard in Costers del Segre and includes Syrah in the Grenache and Carignan robust red wine blend with ripe cherry, red berry and spicy flavours on the palate. As well, in this sub zone, they are replanting heritage local varietals such as Gonfaus, rediscovered in 1998 near the village of Santa Eulàlia de Puig Oriol in the Lluçanès area of Osona county. The grape is named after a field located south of the village, popularly known as the Quintà de Gonfaus. The grape is low-yielding and able to tolerate drought conditions. - Community Wine Reviews
