Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Luscious bold red with dominant black berry fruit and black plum presence. Firm -medium + tannins- and smoky smooth character on the aromas and palate, and medium-long minty finish. Pair with anything wrapped in bacon!
Martha Kelly AIWS - CS rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Deep in colour and dark in flavour, this rich blend of Petite Sirah (85%) and Petit Verdot has pronounced dark berry and floral (violet & freesia) flavours, with mint and rosemary notes balancing its oaky smoke, and coconut. This full-bodied wine has firm tannins and calls to be paired with robust braised beef or BBQ ribs.
Drink now, or cellar until 2022.
Date tasted: October 2014.
Pair with Pachyderm Patties. This Californian red wine is a blend of 85% Petite Sirah and 15% Petit Verdot grapes. Very sweet. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
