Reviews and Ratings

Jacky Blisson rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This 40% Malbec, 30% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon blend hails from Bodegas Norton, a well-known Mendoza winery known for consistent quality and good value.

The 2013 Privada cuvée is a deep, brooding purple with a very ripe, pretty nose featuring black berries, violets and dark chocolate. The tangy acidity gives way to a dense, fleshy, full-bodied mid-palate, bursting with juicy fruit flavours. The tannins are ripe and chewy, bringing nice structure. Attractive spiced notes, from long ageing in new French oak, linger on the finish.

This is a big, powerful wine that nevertheless manages to be quite balanced, with very good integration of oak and high, 15% alcohol.
