The Mazzei family have been the owners of this Italian winery, Castello di Fonterutoli, since 1435. The 2012 vintage of the Chianti Classico Riserva Ser Lapo offers black fruit aromas and firm tannins. Juicy and full-bodied Italian red wine with lots of wild black cherry notes, some smoke and mocha. This Chianti Classico Riserva Ser Lapo is made from Sangiovese grapes. Savoury and meaty with a long finish. Decant 2 hours for maximum pleasure. Pair with grilled meats. O

Chianti Classico food pairings: ravioli, beef stew, pizza, pork chops.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
