Reviews and Ratings

Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

I like how this expression of Shiraz showcases savouriness. It is the marquee note in this red from Australia’s McLaren Vale wine region and it has a superb supporting cast of ripe dark berries, plums, graphite and mocha. All these notes team up to create a stunning bouquet and a delicious flavour profile.

It feels lovely. Medium+ bodied, dry, velvety tannins. Top up my glass, please.

I’ll serve this with savoury sausages.

Maxwell Silver Hammer 2018 is a great value, full-bodied, smooth Shiraz from the McLaren Vale wine region. Look for ripe dark berry, mocha, earthy florals, dark spices and cocoa flavours supple and lush on the palate. Nicely balanced. Drink or hold. - Community Wine Reviews
