Complex, rich, deep and long on the finish: this Italian red wine has it all. A full-bodied, intensely concentrated red wine is made using the Appassimento method of drying grapes before fermentation to add intensity of flavour, body and alcohol to the final wine. Pair with roast beef. This towering red wine is also a great cellar wine. Decant for 1-2 hours before serving with a juicy steak.

Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico food pairings: pasta with a tomato sauce, roasted venison, beef and veggie stew, leg of lamb.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Absolutely heavenly! Big bold complex layers of spice, anise, black plum, dried dates, tobacco, leather, and dark chocolate Belgian truffles dusted in cocoa. So rich and voluptuous, well-layered, well-balanced, smooth and scrumptious. Enjoy with hard cheeses preserves and herb crackers. Tasted Sept 2017 by @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
