Smooth, full-bodied and lovely with mocha and dark fruit goodness. Gorgeous replays of black plum and cherry across the palate. Finishes with a touch of spice and espresso. Highly recommended. Dark berries on the nose with vanilla spice and baked fruit on the finish. Pair with roasted meats.

Food pairings: grilled lamb, pepper steak, spaghetti carbonara.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Gorgeous aromas and flavours of black cherry, plum skin, herbs, camphor, toast, forest floor, and a hint of dark cocoa. 91 points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Campofiorin is a favourite for value, in wine circles for those who know and love Veronese reds. This is one of theor special releases. It comes from select plots and contains a tiny amount of Osseleta; an ancient varietal being repopulated by pioneering producers, like Masi
Deep ruby, woth purple reflections, it's a wine of concentration.
The aromatics have some mincemeat, cherry, fig jam, currant, smoke, vanilla, leather, and powdered cocoa.
Cherry coulis, licorice, fogs, chocolate, vanilla, and tobacco on the palate. Refined and harmonious. It's a step up from the normal Campofiorin, but worth every penny.
This would go well with orzo and grilled eggplant, but it is also a great wine for asosrted dried meats..
Masi Brolo Campofiorin Oro (2013) is a 80% Corvina and 20% Rondinella dry and full-bodied red wine blend from the Veneto wine region. This wine is smooth with black plum, prune, espresso and savoury spice. Great balance and acidity on this wine pair with mushroom risotto topped with lots of Parmesan Reggiano cheese. - Community Wine Reviews
