Natalie's Score: 91/100

A smoky, seductive Chilean red wine made from the classic grape Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas of fleshy black plums, spice and anise. Terrific balancing acidity. Mas Andes translates to beyond the Andes, referring to the longest running mountain range in the world, which also offers natural protection for the vines. Baron Philippe de Rothschild, the famous Bordeaux producer, imposes the same demanding regime here in Chile. Pair with rare steak.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: roast turkey with all the trimmings, prime rib burgers, pork roast.

Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile has dark berry aromas, as well as green pepper, cedar, and cigar box. The fruit follows through on the palate. The tannins are structured. Definitely a more food-friendly type of wine.

Tasted January 2018
This full-bodied, lush Cabernet Sauvignon is a great value red from the Central Valley, Maipo Valley, Chile. Wine grapes for Mas Andes Gran Reserva 2015 were hand-harvested and the wine was matured for six months in oak barrel. Drink now and for then next three years. Pair with grilled meats. - Community Wine Reviews
