Rich, dark and deep with brooding, fleshy ripe black berries, black plums and purple plums. Supple and smooth. Malbec is the reigning red wine grape of Argentina and it plays the leading role in this terrific wine.

Malbec food pairings: barbecued beef.

Reviews and Ratings

Jeremy Sprott rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

On the nose, there's lots of ripe black fruit with a touch of white pepper, cocoa and floral notes in the background. Its smooth and easy drinking with those ripe black fruits leading the way.
A very tasty Malbec and great value.
Terrific with grilled sirloin/bacon burgers (especially over charcoal)!
Geoff reviewed this wine as follows:

the 2010 was excellent, hope this is as good in a couple of years
The words Manos Negras mean "black hands" and refer to the fact that "real winemakers" get their hands dirty (and dark) making wine -- a hands on approach that involves rolling up one's sleeves and getting a manicure afterwards. The high altitude dessert of the Mendoza wine region provides ideal conditions to create deep, rich red wines. Malbec is raised to its Platonic ideal here where once it was relegated to a minor blending role in Bordeaux. Sunny days and cool night result in dark black colour and flavour, yet balancing acidity and backbone. - Community Wine Reviews
