Natalie's Score: 88/100

From M.A.N, the 2018 'Padstal' Chardonnay is enticing with its fresh melon, lemon custard and buttered popcorn aromas on the nose. Dry, medium-bodied with fresh baked goods, ripe pear and apple flavours finishing long on a clean mineral note. Good acidity for food. Pair it with grilled lemon Dijon chicken breasts. There are three co-owners of MAN Vintners — Jose Condé, and brothers Tyrrel and Philip Myburg, who named the winery using the first letter of their wives' names: Marie, Anette and Nicky.

Chardonnay food pairings: cream-based pastas, chicken dishes.

Reviews and Ratings

Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

A medium-bodied Chardonnay from South Africa with floral and melon aromas. Light oak evident on the palate and the finish is crisp and short. Serve with firm fish like salmon or tuna. Interesting note on the label- the M.A.N. on the label denotes the first initials of the wives of the three winemakers. Keeping it in the family!
From Coastal Region, South Africa, a well-balanced with Chardonna, generous flavours of ripe peach and pear, buttered toast and almond flavours on the palate. Good value here! - Community Wine Reviews
