Hard to believe how low the alcohol is on this given its blockbuster explosion of black fruit, cedar and smoke, along with a luxuriously rich weight and mouth-filling voluptuousness. Yes, I like it. Complex, deep, rich. Perfect with hearty meat dishes.

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

The Granulates Saint-Joseph 2011 vintage is composed of 100% marsanne varietal. This wine is golden straw coloured and is an attention seeker in aromatics, taste and mouthfeel. This wine is well integrated and luscious on the nose, on the palate and all around. Immediately sensed butter, vanilla, honeysuckle, orange blossom and ripe apricot, asian pear on the nose and palate. This wine is creamy texture and well structured with high acidity, deep dense fruit. Recommend drink 2015-2020. Would pair well with garlic infused lobster tail, king crab or pan seared jumbo sea scallops with a citrus drizzle.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
