From world renown producer, Lustau, Solera Familiar is a non-vintage Palo Cortado Peninsula Solera Reserva produced from the Palomino wine grape. Dry and complex with layers of dried apricot, roasted nuts, chocolate, espresso, fine herbs and oxidative notes (in a good way). Palo cortado sherries start out as finos, but lose their protective cover of flor so they age oxidatively. Lustau was founded by Don Jose Ruiz-Bodejo in 1896. After his death in 1930, the operation was moved to Jerez and it was Ruiz-Bodejo's son-in-law who established the Lustau Solera Reserva wines.

Sherry food pairings: roasted nuts, Manchego cheese, seafood tapas, roast pheasant, meat patés.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
