This robust and juicy Spanish red wine is made mostly from the Grenache (aka Grenache) grape, with the balance filled in with Carineña, Merlot, Syrah and Tempranillo grapes. Juicy and full-bodied with playful aromas of purple and black plums. Blueberries, all fleshy, on the palate. Produced from vines planted in the Terra Alta region at 356 metres above sea level and in limestone soil. Average growing season temperatures from April to October is 19.6 degrees Celsius. Aged in French and American oak barrels for 4 months. Pair with meat tapas.

Food pairings: lamb stew, sausage cassoulet, hamburgers.

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This wine is all briar and fresh herbs, along with a hint of cocoa and tobacco. Lovely. 91 points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted July 25th 2017. Colour medium ruby, medium plus legs. Aroma cherry, blackberry, black licorice. Taste, dry, medium mouth feel, soft tannins, easy drinking food wine. I drank it with sweet mild sausage grilled, fire roasted tomatoes on spaghetti topped with parmasen cheese. Good value. Nice lunch wine.
Ludovicus (2013) is a juicy, full-bodied red wine made from 100% Grenache wine grapes, organically farmed and aged four months in French and American oak. Wine grapes come from the Terra Alta wine region in Spain and this easy-drinking red is ripe plum, blueberry, fig and cherry on the nose and palate. Great with pizza! Drink now and for the next few years. - Community Wine Reviews
