OMG! This is a wine spa for your tongue. Drop dead gorgeous. Proposal wine: any proposal. Seductive nose of black violets dipped in moonlight, fleshy black plum. But this is all about texture: satin wrapped in silk wrapped in clouds.

Reviews and Ratings

Darlene Myers - CAPS Student rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

I just had experienced this gorgeous wine at our recent Port of Wines Festival, and it was spectacular. Rich and supple, this wine will have you wanting to visit Tuscanny. Sangiovese and Merlot combine to give you a smooth velvety taste experience. This is what our new 'treat' wine looks like. It was my favorite at the show.
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Oct 23, 2014: Tasted blind at NCSG Vintage pre-release event.
Deep ruby/purple with an intense nose of dark plum, cassis, blackberry, prune, violet notes and substantial oak treatment showing baking spice and coffee. A little volitile and high alcohol on the nose as well. Full bodied, blackberry, cherry fruit, toasty oak, chocolate, good acidity and big drying tannins on the somewhat hot finish. The palate doesn't quite meet up to expectations from the nose on this young wine that will hopefully settle with a few years in the cellar. Try in 2-3 years with rich stews or roasts or decant for several hours now.
Luce was founded in 1995 through a collaboration between Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi families. It's a heart of Tuscany wine meant to torture us with its greatness. The 2011 vintage of this Turbo Tuscan cult wine is a blend of Merlot and Sangiovese grapes. A few more years in the cellar please. - Community Wine Reviews
