Reviews and Ratings

Jacky Blisson rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Medium, translucent ruby red. Pretty dark fruits, spice and subtly earthy notes on the nose. Fresh and fruity on the palate, with smooth, medium weight tannins. Fantastic value for the price. Serve slightly chilled. Very moreish.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A Grenache/Syrah blend that offers a whole lot of flavour and a whole lot of value, an unbeatable combination! Ripe dark fruit, licorice and dried herbs, savoury notes with smooth tannins and spicy finish. Serve with grilled meat, duck or game. Such a good value, you should buy 2 or 3 bottles to keep on hand.

Bill Wright Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Great fruit with full tannins. Medium full bodied. If you did not know the price you would think it was twice what it is.
Courtney Flood rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

A bit green - aromas of cherry, cranberry, tree sap, and peppercorn. A bit of cola undertones. Pizza or pasta wine.
Olivier de Maisonneuve rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Spices and dark fruit compotes, hints of leather on the nose.Strong backbone but not harsh.A hearty fruity red wine with a bit of attitude.Good BBQ wine, or with tourtière. Medium length.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Plum and cherry aromas with a touch of raspberry and earthy barnyard. The taste is a smooth cherry with a bit of tartness. A very nice burger wine, or for a herbed pork roast.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

When you look at the price, your impression might be changed. A little tight on the nose, got some tart cherry and some white pepper. Also got something a bit rustic or barnyard-y. Palate is mostly tart cherry, a bit of earth. Tannins are medium, acid is medium, finish is short. For a value wine, it's pretty good. try with pork chops or burgers.
Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 83/100 with the following review:

Alex: Opens up funky on the nose, blowing off to reveal intense white pepper and raspberry fruits. Supple palate, lacy texture and modest complexity. Finishes on raspberries and spice, lean and unbaked in style. Pretty decent stuff. 85pts

Priya: The drying sensation of the tannins hits me like a wall and leaves my teeth feeling coated. Too rustic for me, although I appreciate that it's not overly baked, to echo Alex's notes! 82pts
Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 82/100 with the following review:

For $12, it's well worth the try…
Presentation: Classic label, nothing special
Appearance: Medium ruby red
Nose: Leather, raspberries, cigar box
Taste: Sour berries, leather, black pepper
Finish: A strong finish of black pepper, earth and sour berries
Overall impression: Not bad at all for a $12 bottle of wine. Though the finish peters out, there are interesting notes that would allow this wine to be paired with many different summer patio and BBQ dishes
Value: 4/5
