Reviews and Ratings

Mymi Thesingingsommelier - Sommelier, FWS rated this wine as 83/100 with the following review:

Cuvée Mythique is produced by the Val d’Orbieu Co-Opérative.
Based in Narbonne in the Languedoc Roussillon, Val d’Orbieu is the largest still wine cooperative group in France. With 2500 members, these producers use their wines to tell stories of the mythical terroirs from which they came from; Saint Chinian, Fitou, Corbières, Malepère etc. These wines are the fruit of "age-old savoir-faire". To symbolize the painstaking task of tending vines in an untamed environment, they chose the “Owl of Minerva”, the goddess who taught men how to master nature, as their logo.
This red is a careful blend of micro-cuvées from 8 selected growers and it consists of, among others, syrah, mourvèdre, grenache and century-old carignan grapes.
In the glass, it is a beautiful ruby red with bright intense aromas of currant syrup, candied cherries, black pepper, a little masala spices and a hint of Herbes de Provence.
Very generous mouthfeel complete with mild tannins, refreshing acidity, loads of ripe red fruit and a long smoky finish…
Perfect sipper while you wait for the next wave of trick and treaters to come knocking at your door!

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
