Natalie's Score: 89/100

From Gisborne, North Island, LeftField 2022 is produced from 100% Albariño. This New Zealand white wine is fresh and fragrant with ripe peach, citrus fruits, tropical fruit notes and fine herb flavours rounded and rich on the palate. Youthful and so good now. Chill and enjoy with grilled halibut steaks.

Albariño food pairings: freshly steamed and chilled shrimp, Caesar salads topped with grilled chicken nuggets, pan-fried lemon sole.

Reviews and Ratings

L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Medium coloured gold wine, dry, medium + acidity and medium bodied with a pronounced nose of peach, apricot, bright citrus, honey with pleasant herbal notes and a musky fruit flavour (cantaloupe). In the mouth there was a slight spritz sensation and the flavour of the nose repeated on the palate. Excellent with pan seared scallops and rice and green salad featuring sprout mix, tomatoes and sweet orange peppers dressed with a mix of rosemary olive oil and apricot balsamic vinegar. Finished this off with Lemon lime goat cheese and white stilton with mango and ginger.
