Natalie's Score: 89/100

From the Rasteau region in the Southern Rhone valley this is a 50-50 blend of Grenache and Syrah and the 2015 vintage is even better than the 2014. Deep inky ruby colour, full-bodied, plushy, smooth and spicy on the palate with ripe red plum and savoury spice flavours. Tannins are silky. Enjoy now and for the next five years.

Food pairings: meat pizza, tortiere, hard cheeses.

Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Nicely crafted blend of equal parts Grenache and Syrah. Exhibits ripe black cherry, cranberry, and plum accented by violet and black pepper. Well equipped in terms of acid, tannin, and body, but still soft, smooth, and easy to drink. This has herbed lamb or grilled beef written all over it.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Medium-full bodied, well structured, well balanced and pleasant. This is an easy sipper on its own or serve with light beef or lamb dishes. No rough edges anywhere to be seen here. (Tasted April 2019)
From Lavau, this Rasteau (2015) is great value. One of the best vintages with a full-bodied red blend of Grenache and Syrah grapes. Smoky with ripe dark fruits and ripe cherry flavours on the palate. Finishes spicy. Enjoy now and for the next five years. - Community Wine Reviews
