Natalie's Score: 90/100

From Aude in the Languedoc wine region, Laurent Miquel Solas 2022 is a bone-dry and minerally Albariño sourced from vineyard plots grown 200 metres in the sunny Corbières. Look for ripe peach, soft citrus and lemon zest flavours with a briny mineral finish. Enjoy it chilled on its own or with seacuterie through 2025.

Albariño food pairings: oyster pot pie, steamed periwinkles in black bean sauce, fish tacos.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Terrific value-priced white wine to enjoy year round from the south of France. 100% Albarino, the nose shows expressive apple, pear, peach, honeysuckle and floral blossoms. Medium bodied and dry, the palate shows pithy citrus, stone fruit, and great salinity on the finish. Light tannins add to the textural complexity in this refreshing wine which you'll want to pair with grilled shrimp and other seafood with creamy garlic and butter sauces, or chicken kebabs with lemon marinade. Enjoy 2024-2025 served chilled. Tasted June 2024. 90 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
