Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aromatic and delicate Shiraz from Lakeview Wine co., under the Diamond Estates umbrella. It isn't a big blockbuster Shiraz, but instead shows a lot of cool climate charm.
Medium ruby, with some light bricking going on.
Aromas are spicey and satisfying. Pepper, chickory, cocoa, brown kitchen spices, plum, and cherry.
The flavours are fresh and juicy. Great acidity, with only a dapple of oak if any. More plum amd ripe cherry. The spice keeps things interesting, with a dusting of cocoa, mace, black pepper, and a touch of leather. Modest alcohol.
Shiraz like this can be a welcome change, especially in hot weather. It goes great woth the same fare as big, bolshy wines because it has a lot of intensity in the aromatics. The freshness doesn't bog you down, though.
Pair it with a rack of lamb or steak frites.
The 2012 vintage in Niagara was a long, warm one which allowed for slow and even ripening of the grapes. - Community Wine Reviews
