Complex, full-bodied yet nuanced and long on the finish. This vibrant Italian red wine features gorgeous aromas of dried black cherry, cedar, smoke, fleshy blackberries from an iconic producer. It's a blend of Merlot, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, and it was aged for 1 year in French barriques. Decant for 1 hour. Pair this wine with prime rib.

Food pairings: pepper steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Beautiful CS nose (floral, cassis) along with ample new oak. Full weight wine with solid tannic structure. Best if you wait on this one 4-6 yrs.
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Iconic Super Tuscan Luce's little brother, Lucente, offers wine lovers the opportunity to enjoy a 2nd label Super Tuscan at an affordable price. The Lucente is medium ruby red in colour, the nose shows cedar dark berries, roasted beets, forest floor, and graphite. Ultra dry with ample youthful tannins, the palate shows tart berries, cherry, leather and cedar. A tightly wound wine that benefits from a 2 hour decant prior to service. Enjoy with seared pepper steak with mushroom risotto. Tasted November 2015. 90 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
This full-bodied red wine is the second wine to Frescobaldi’s flagship label Luce, but it's not second rate in any dimension. The grapes are sourced from the same vineyards as Luce. - Community Wine Reviews
