La Posta Estelo Armando (2016) is an Argentinean Bonarda red wine from the Mendoza wine region. Structured and balanced with ripe dark plums, ripe black fruity and a zesty acidity, this wine is smoky with lots of texture and finishes lightly lingering with anise. Balanced with fleshy purple plums, smoke and a dry, chalky finish. Ripe blackberry jam aromas on a long finish. No new oak. Produced by fourth generation winemaker Laura Catena. Pair with grilled meats.

Bonarda food pairings: beef stew, spaghetti & meat balls, barbecued chicken, turkey, duck breast.

Reviews and Ratings

Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted June 18th, 2018. Colour ruby red. Legs medium. Aromas and flavours of raspberry, spice and licorice. Taste dry, medium body, light tannin, mouthwatering plus and fruity. Finish medium. I like this wine because it is easy to drink, fruity and good value. An everyday drinking wine that you can pair with simple meat dishes, pasta, burgers and pizza. La Posta is a Tavern. The wine label celebrates the wine grower and the wine maker is Laura Catena.
