Black as night with tarry aromas and flavours, plus fleshy black fruit. Tannic, so decant at least 2 hours. It will cellar for 3-4 years and soften around the edges.

Meritage food pairings: braised meats.

Deep ruby-coloured with smoky black plum, blackberry, cedar and dark chocolate. Plump fruit core yet the wine remains very dry, and very structured. Complex and layered flavours in the mouth, with deep, dark fruit, mint, blackcurrant and cedar. Give this one a little air to really let it strut its stuff. This will reward 2-4 years of cellaring, or decant it tonight and serve. Source: Vintages Wine Panel

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
