Natalie's Score: 88/100 This French white wine is a blend of 50% Grenache blanc (white), 40% Viognier and 10% Clairette grapes, although Roussanne and Marsanne are also mentioned on the back label. The soils and stones in which the vines are planted are called "la truffiere" and impart a distinctive character to the wine. Racy acidity and minerality with aromas of white peach, pear and lime. Pair with fresh fish.
Food pairings: summer salads, grilled-chicken sandwiches.

Reviews and Ratings
Mymi Thesingingsommelier - Sommelier, FWS rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review: So what would it take for Stéphane Vedeau, the owner and winemaker at ‘La Ferme Du Mont’ in the Southern part of Les Côtes du Rhône to even be interested in purchasing a piece of land to add to his vineyard collection? In his words, he is “terroir-attracted” and looks for fresh minerality in the soil. Not only do you find that fresh minerality in the wines that he carefully crafts but you also taste the land and that natural harmonious balance that he skillfully maintains through the winemaking process. His wines are all organic products, free of chemicals and pesticides, the fertilizers are organic in nature and he even uses ambient or natural yeasts to ferment the wines. This wine comes from the only 8 hectares of his devoted to white varietals. It is a blend of 50% Grenache Blanche, 40% Viognier and 10% Clairette. Since white wines from the Rhône have a tendency to be flabby and lacking in acidity due to the warm warm weather in that region, Stéphane picks some Grenache while under-ripe to preserve it, the Clairette provides a ‘bite’ and the Viognier adds lovely minerality. In the glass, it is a silvery yellow with green hues. On the nose, it is floral and gentle like a summer breeze with a hint of ripe banana and mango. In the mouth, it is dry and fruity with toasted marshmallows, lemon zest and almond extract notes. Fresh acidity and a delicate aftertaste make this wine a superb patio sipper! Give Pinot Grigio a break! This is a wonderful introduction to a relatively unknown white varietal combination! It’s summer! Why not enjoy a taste of sunny south of France right in your backyard?!!!
Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review: Priya: Smells a bit spicy, like white pepper! And I've never smelled that but this is lighter than black pepper so there! A nice lemony zest to this as well, and it's quite fruity and fuller bodied for a white! 84 pts Alex: Hah, I'd agree with you my lady! Subtle pepper coming from the admittedly slightly underripe Grenache...however this is still quite fleshy, as expected from a white rhone. Full of peach and chamomile on the as well, rich and dense. There are some green notes on the palate, but it's still full of peach with a nice mid-weight stature and great acidity. Moderate length here, this is for your king shrimp sautéed with lemon and garlic. A subtler white rhone in style, but this will make it a better wine at the table. 86 pts
