Solid and full-bodied with green apple, vanilla and butter aromas. Very classic and typical of cool climate Californian chardonnay. The region of Monterey keeps its cool from ocean breezes, which add the zest and balance to this wine. Creamy and toasty with a long, satisfying finish. Yum!

Chardonnay food pairings: crab legs, lobster, chicken breast, vegetable terrine, pork burgers.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Nothing ABC about this California Chardonnay. Rich, buttery, tropical, woody, and golden delicious apple. Full-bodied beauty. I enjoy Chardonnay less chilled. Closer to 16C or 17C. Grilled turkey burgers with mango chutney relish on a sweet bun. Perfection!
The sun-soaked coastal Monterey region does an almost magical job of creating big, plump Chardonnay that retains its balancing brightness and liveliness. This example serves up luscious tropical fruit – think pineapple and mango – with applesauce, buttered toast and woodsmoke rounding things out. The ripe fruit is nicely matched by the toasty oak. Perfect lightly chilled. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, March 2013
