A full-bodied, generous round South African Chardonnay with aromas of butterscotch and smoke. Well-priced and delicious. Pair with roasted chicken. The winery's cellar is cathedral vaulted with stained glass thus the name. The Cathedral Cellar Chardonnay offers remarkable value for this tasty, rich, buttery Chardonnay.

Chardonnay food pairings: cranberry braised partridge, pork filet au gratin with green herbs, grilled chicken breast with cranberry and red currant sauce.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is a perennial favourite of mine and represents incredible value. It is spicy and buttery, with vanilla, baked apple, stone fruit and loads of citrus character. Beautiful and well-rounded. 90 Points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
South Africa's Western Cape has a wide variety of mesoclimates and terroir in general. In particular, the cooling influence of the prevailing winds known as the 'Cape Doctor' give an evenness to the ripening of grapes and elegance to wines from the cape. - Community Wine Reviews
