Savoury and juicy, with robust aromas and flavours of blackberries and black cherries. This is a blend of 45% Grenache, 30% Shiraz, and 25% Mataro grapes, which was matured in French and American oak barrels. Pair with a hearty meat casserole tonight.

Grenache Shiraz Mataro food pairings: aged meats and cheeses, venison, herbed roast beef, lamb, hamburgers.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro is sure to coat your pearly whites! This full-bodied red wine is opaque ruby in colour and spent 30 months in French oak. Aromas gallop from the glass: black cherry, cassis, dark plum, Earl Grey tea, baking spices, Christmas cake, mint, leather, eucalyptus. Polishing tannins with medium + acidity and long minty fruit driven finish. Highly recommend. Great gift wine. Pair with finer cuts of beef, hearty beef stew, charred and roasted game. Enjoy over the next 5 years.
Tasted: January 2015
Attractive fennel and blackcurrant on the nose and finish. The vines are dry grown and the wine is aged for 30 months in French oak barrels. - Community Wine Reviews
