Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Gorgeous off-dry style, medium bodied, balanced. Lemon drop, low alcohol 9.5%, medium plus persistence of ripe pear and peaches with wildflower honey on a medium finish. Pairs well with Asian fusion. Tasted 2016 vintage in March 2018. 92 points
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

I loved this wine at a recent tasting. It is off-dry, with lots of candied lemon, ripe apple and stone fruit. It's mouthwatering acidity works its magic on the finish. The fruit is slightly cloying but in a good way. 91 Points.
Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

A sweet Riesling for cheese and dessert.…
Presentation: An interesting label that reminds us of a winter scene
Appearance: Pale lemon
Nose: Medium nose with citrus fruit (tangerine, blood orange), cat piss and dried grass
Taste: Medium sweet wine, medium body, high acidity, low tannins, sweet citrus (clementines, tangerines), cat piss and dried grass
Finish: long sweet finish
Overall impression: The acidity in this Riesling balances out the sweetness. It would be a great pairing with cheese or dessert.
Value: 3/5
Eamonn Donnelly reviewed this wine as follows:

Very pale lemon colour with green reflections in the glass. Initially, aromas are slightly shy and need a little bit of time to open. Ripe apple, nectarine and citrus zest with gestures of petrol like minerality, although quite subdued. Very juicy and mouthwatering on the palate bursting with ripe, sweet stone fruit and apple. Nicely balanced fresh lemon acidity cuts through the sweetness. A great wine for aromatic, slightly spicy curry based dishes.
from the Nahe wine region, Kruger-Rumpf Münsterer Im Pitterberg 2016 is a zesty Riesling with honeysuckle, citrus flavours on the palate with a mineral streak running through it. Wine grapes for this dry, mouth-watering Riesling were sourced from two vineyards, one planted in the 1940s and the second in the 1960s. Drink or hold for five years. Pair with rich seafood, mild curry and sushi fare. - Community Wine Reviews
