A rich and plushy Burgundian-style Chardonnay with fragrant baked bread and nutty aromas on the nose. Elegant on the palate with bright apple, butternut, smoky and spicy flavours on the palate. Great acidity for food. Pair with roast chicken.

Chardonnay food pairings: panko-crusted grilled chicken, salmon steaks, basil pesto, prawn bisque, cheese fondue.

Reviews and Ratings

Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

I totally loved this wine. More Burgundian than block buster Californian in style, even the alcohol at 14.1% showed a little more restraint. Oaky, toasty, crushed biscuits, balanced with the most beautiful acidity that sweeps through the oak to show you lemon meringue pie, lemon brulée tart and a long, long finish that is balanced right till the end. 57 barrels made. Get your bottle now. Unfined and unfiltered. Try with grilled salmon with a pistachio crust @wrightwineblog
Another beautiful Chardonnay from Kistler. The 2017 is rich and elegant with crunchy apple, baked goods and nutty, smoky and spicy flavours on the palate finishing long and spicy. Kistler has been making Chardonnay in Sonoma since 1978, The grapes for this wine were sourced from the Mayacamas Range to the west as well as Sonoma Mountain. - Community Wine Reviews
