Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Karma 2018 is a spicy Bordeaux-style red blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, vibrant with lively acidity and juicy tannins. Fragrant and spicy with pink florals, violets, sous bois, white pepper and cedar spice aromas, Karma is dry, medium-plus-bodied and zesty with liquid dark cherry, spicy pepper, sweet baking spice and vanilla marshmallow flavours with a medium-plus finish. Tannins are structured and mildly grippy. Food-friendly with great acidity for burgers and ribs. We paired it with a grilled sirloin steak rubbed with garlic-chive salt (from farmersdotter organics Cawston, B.C.)

Aged for 18 months in French and American oak 225-litre barrels. This vintage was awarded Silver in the 2020 All Canadian Wine Awards. Tasted September 2020.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
