Produced by Ken Forrester, this is an elegant white wine produced from Old Vines Reserve Chenin Blanc from six different Stellenbosch vineyards. Wine grapes are hand-picked and sustainably farmed, with no herbicides or pesticides. The vines average 35 years of age. Look for citrusy grapefruit mixed in with honeyed peach, ripe pear and apple flavours silky on the palate. Enjoy now.

Chenin Blanc food pairings: white fleshed fish, Greek salad, game, grilled pork, salmon tartare served on homemade crisp.

Reviews and Ratings

Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

How fortunate are we that this rich Chenin Blanc, with its oaky, smoky nose is available at such a reasonable price. Full-bodied and silky smooth with lemon tones on the palate. Satisfying in every way with a respectable finish. Very good value. Pair with chicken dishes or creamy pastas. Tasted Nov 22, 2019 www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

A Chenin Blanc from Stellenbosch, South Africa with strong pear aromas and on the palate. There are hints of petrol in the aromas, and a dry, smooth finish. Roasted poultry or pork, or turkey casserole would pair well.
South Africa knows what they are doing with Chenin Blanc. This one in particular produced from Old Vines sustainably-farmed Chenin Blanc sourced from the Stellenbosch wine region. - Look for ripe peach, apple, pear, and honeyed aromas on the nose, dry and crisp on the palate. - Community Wine Reviews
